aaah, friday! the day to look forward to, the end of the week (for most people).  a day to receive rewards for the week.

now, i have to say three things i like about myself. let's see...

1.  i used to be teased by relatives that i was negra (dark-skinned, tanned), but now i'm loving my skin tone because i realized the beige don't age.
2. people say i have beautiful eyes, which is ironic because i'm myopic.
3. i have very few friends but i'm fiercely loyal to them.

i have also received an award from kayni's corner cafe (maraming salamat!) and was really surprised that it was an award for substance. wow, who knew? to fully receive this award, i have to sum up my blogging philisophy in five words, so here goes...

i am mom and wife

yes, i know, i'm not the only mom and wife. when i started blogging years ago, i wrote about me, what was happening then, my observations as i people-watch. when i became a mom, i realized that life isnt all about me anymore. becoming a mother opened my eyes to how i live my life, my relationships with family and friends. being a mom made me realize how much i love my country and what it stands for, how lucky that my son was born in a democratic country, however flawed it may be, and that i have a responsibility to make sure that it stays that way until his time comes. i write about me, my life as a wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister, a friend.
