a day just for me...hopefully

i'm in a bit of a jam, and not the sweet kind.

my friends have organized a secret something-something for my birthday two weeks from now. it's just me and the girls. the last time this ever happened was before my wedding almost five years ago. there's only one problem: jackjack.

here's the thing: hubby got a job offer, which he accepted, and he starts working nights in two weeks. the girls planned an all-day saturday to sunday thing. this means that if i leave my boys at home, hubby might not be able to give his full attention to jackjack due to lack of sleep. he suggested that if my parents would welcome the idea, jackjack could spend that night with his grandparents. this would be the first time that jackjack would be spending the night somewhere else without me. my mom is concerned that he night look for me and refuse to cooperate with them.

i really want to go. i think i deserve it. i have never had a day-off or a me-day ever since he was born.

any ideas how i can go through with this?

  3. Give him something special to go to if he misses you during the day, and go and have fun! You do deserve it!

  5. Hi Cheri!

Thanks for your comment in my latest post! Oh, Benjamin did disturbs me now and then. I had to react fast enough and throw him whatever kitchen utensils (the safe one of course) so that he gets distracted and I could continue my baking.. and of course, taking pictures hahaha :P

Ben has yet to be able to reach the gas stove... I always covered the gas knob so he doesn't see how we operate the gas stove. Else he'll start learning and practising!

Btw, as for your post, I'm also having quite a similar predicament like yours, although mine is only for 2 hours max (I made it myself).

A close ex-colleague of mine is resigning and invited me to her farewell celebration tomorrow. She and 2 other ex colleagues of mine are real close to me when I was still working last time, so I had to attend this function. Lunch was out (too short time for me to rush to and fro) so dinner was the best choice and night time is the worse time to leave Ben (with anybody cos he'll start going after my breast milk around his sleeping time 10pm+)

So my plan for tomorrow is get hubby to drop me off at my old office, leave Ben with hubby and MIL to care for him while I go and eat all I can (prison break! yeayyyyyY!!) and hopefully come home to a very tired toddler! Heheheh...

Oh oh, back to your case, yeah, pass jackjack to your parents. You deserve it. It's not always we get to go out and have our own time! If possible, try to overnight at your parents place before the actual outing night itself, so to give warm up to jackjack... let him get used to your parents place.. :)

Hope it works out for you! Sorry for the long ramble :D
