have you ever held your baby in your arms and think, he can't be mine, because you chickened out from the pain and opted to be sedated?
have you ever mentally asked yourself how you would you be able to keep him alive?
have you ever screamed to a pillow in frustration, feeling all alone?
have you ever wondered how somebody so little can bring out all your joys and sorrows at the same time?
have you ever thought that you have a little heartbreaker in your hands?
have you ever thought how you would bring him up to be a man of courage and faith, respectful of women and all being on the planet?
have you ever thought how you would handle his tantrums?
have you ever thought how you would discipline him?
have you ever thought how you would hide your tears as you leave him to face the wall and he's crying out to you?
have you ever accepted that he is fully dependent on you, and that you have to be the adult now?
have you ever said anything you didnt mean in anger, only to apologize to him in tears later?
have you ever questioned why you were chosen to be his mother when, clearly, you're not very good at this?
have you ever realized that he's just a little boy, trying to please his mother?
have you ever realized the power of your kiss to make his booboos get better?
have you ever accepted the fact that even if he's too much to handle, you cant live your life without him?
have you ever known that this is the hardest job ever?
have you ever known that this is the most rewarding job ever?

And it's the worst paid job ever...and the best paid job ever!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the curry chicken recipe. That's about the same way my family makes it in Jamaica except they brown the chicken first. Mine turned out okay but it still didn't taste the same. :-)
Cheers :-)

You did a great job with this "Have you Ever" prompt. I couldn't think of anything for it. No, I never thought motherhood was easy.
